Not again! Another scooter let loose on the road

Last week, we brought you the story of a woman in Japan driving in the middle of a busy road.

On Tuesday, another woman was found driving her scooter down a highway in Nottingham, England.

With the traffic around her travelling at roughly 80 kph, it was incredibly dangerous for the woman to be on the road.

Luckily, local police told the Nottinghamshire Post the woman was picked up safely and dropped home shortly afterwards.

In Queensland, scooter users are considered to be pedestrians under road rules, and are therefore prohibited from driving on highways.

However, even if you stick to the footpaths and safer roads, it’s a good idea to take precautions when driving at night for the safety of yourself and other road users.

Queensland Transport recommends a white light at the front, a red light at the back and reflectors similar to those on bicycles. It’s also important to wear bright clothes so other people can see you properly.
