The Jay Ion cushion is a soft, lightweight and comfortable foam cushion designed for moderate postural support. It provides a comfortable seating surface for those at moderate risk of skin breakdown, whom have moderate positioning needs and may require the use of a wheelchair for extended periods of time. The dual layered pre-countered foam base is highly resilient, providing supportive positioning to the pelvis and thighs in a way that improves orthopaedic alignment and accommodates individual needs.

The Ion is composed of a dual layered foam base, memory foam top layer, moisture resistant inner cover and anti-microbial outer cover. Its dual-layered foam base and memory foam top layer work in tandem to provide a combination of structural support and comfort. The firmness of the foam is determined by the cushion’s width, which directly corresponds with the weight of the client; this ensures optimal immersion for each individual.

The moisture resistant inner cover, equipped with an Aquaguard zipper and anti-wicking thread, prevents moisture build up and is ideal for those that suffer from incontinence. The foam spacer layer reduces skin breakdown through the dissipation of heat and moisture. Its anti-microbial outer cover prevents bacterial growth and reduces risk of skin breakdown.
